National Dental Health Month
National Dental Health Month 2009 was launched at Maerua Mall in Windhoek on Saturday morning 1 August 2009. Members of the Namibian Dental Association provided free oral health screening to disadvantaged school children (and other members of the public) as well as information on dental and oral health care to all interested parties.
A news team of the NBC attended the launch. This made headline news on NBC radio and television over the weekend. Golgate once again provided generous sponsorship for the event and needy children were provided with toothpaste and brushes to enable them to practice their newly acquired skills in maintaining oral hygiene.
Talks on dental and oral health will be held on most of the NBC Radio language services as well as on National Radio during the Dental Health Month. The Zanele Mbeki Pre-Primary School in Katutura will be targeted with special dental hygiene projects during the dental health month.
