Minutes of the NDA ExCo Meeting 11 March 2010
1. Opening: Meeting was opened with prayer by the President, Dr. Kagiso Moloi
2. Apologies: Dr. Ida Swanepoel, Dr. Sonja Obholzer
3. Minutes of previous meeting: It was decided that in future minutes will just record the conclusions and final decisions on discussion topics.
4. 2010 Congress:
- Ms Gärtner not available to report on this. She has been in contact with various possible venues for the congress for this year.
- Dr. De Chavonnes urges that speakers must be finalized, because their programs are quite full.
- Dr. Derek Mahony is willing to come to Namibia for the 2011 congress. If we get the necessary sponsors for him, his wife and four children we will be glad to have him. To be investigated further.
5. Marketing:
- The sub-committee must meet, and make specific suggestions for marketing before the next ExCo meeting.
- Radio Wave Smile Makeover Project: Mr. Van Zyl’s dental treatment is in progress, and will continue.
6. Website: 15886 hits to date. Average of 40 hits per day.
7. Emergency rota: Dr. Moloi will draw up a roster to be published on the website, distributed to hospitals and pharmacies and e-mailed to participants.
8. Correspondence: Keys for the post box to be held by Dr. Moloi
9. General:
- Payment of Laboratory fees by dentists – was discussed
- PSEMAS administration – was discussed
10. Closure: Next ExCo meeting: 22 April 2010
