Andrea was born in Otjiwarongo, Namibia on 5 May 1966. She grew up on Farm Omakune in the Otjiwarongo district and matriculated in Otjiwarongo in 1984. She is married to Christian and has two children, Viggo and Danya.

- 1987: Employed as oral hygienist by Dr. Nick van der Linde in Swakopmund for the first half of the year and employed as dental assistant by Dr. Chris de Chavonnes Vrugt in Windhoek, for the remainder of 1987.
- 1988 – 2006: Employed as oral hygienist by Drs. Francois Theron and Robert Young in Windhoek. During this period Andrea also assisted Dr. Hans van Heerden, visiting periodontist. She also worked for Dr. André van Vuuren on a part-time basis.
- Employed by Dr. Martin Wucher in his Okahandja practice as oral hygienist since February 2005.
